FREIGHT TO TERMINAL

Freight to terminal is an option for a third party freight carrier to transport your coop on a pallet to a truck terminal in your area for you to pick up. This is the most cost effective and popular option for shipping our coops to our clients for self-assembly!
*When we entrust third party carriers with your highly valued order, we always ensure that it is insured for the full invoice price.

THINGS TO CONSIDER FOR THIS OPTION:

·You will need a full-sized pickup truck with a 6-foot bed and be able to haul 1000 lbs-1800 lbs depending on the style and size of the coop that you order.

·You can have a terminal employee load your pallet into your vehicle or trailer if you’d like, this is your preference. We suggest bringing a box cutter, knife or scissors, screw gun and an extra person or two to help you unpack your pallet and transfer coop components to your truck bed. Using the wider, heavy duty ratchet straps to secure your load for transit, the terminal will typically dispose of your pallet and wrap for you.

*This option is typically easier, you can usually maneuver a pickup truck to the location that you prefer to assemble your coop, thus not having to carry the panels and components any farther than necessary.

·Considering a trailer for pick up? Please note that a ‘deckover’ style trailer is best. You can use other style trailers at your discretion depending on your preferences and load size and weight.

FREIGHT TO TERMINAL PROCEDURE:
Invoice must be paid in full prior to releasing the package to the carrier for transit.

  1. Carolina Coops will contact you to let know that your coop is complete in the build and packing process and is ready to ship. At this time, we will send a final invoice with shipping costs according to the final weight on your pallet to be shipped.
  2. Once the invoice is paid in full, Carolina Coops will schedule the pick up of your pallet for transit.
  3. Depending on the day and time of final payment, pick ups can sometimes be scheduled the same day or typically next business day.
  4. Carolina Coops will forward tracking numbers as well as carrier information on your invoice.
  5. Carolina Coops will send E-Manuals along with any other supporting documents needed for your coop assembly.
  6. Once the pallet has been received at the destination terminal, dispatch will contact you to let you know that your pallet is available for pick up.
  7. When you arrive at the truck terminal, inform desk personnel that you are there to retrieve a pallet. They will request your tracking/PRO number listed on your invoice.

A forklift driver will bring your pallet to a loading area for you to inspect and sign for acceptance. At that time, they will either load it into your vehicle or you can transfer contents to your vehicle. Most terminals will be happy to dispose of your pallet for you.

FREIGHT TO RESIDENCE

Freight to residence is an option for a third party freight carrier to transport your coop on a pallet from our HQ shop to your residential address for self-assembly. This option is NOT available to all residences, nor is the most convenient option all of the time.
*When we entrust third party carriers with your highly valued order, we always ensure that it is insured for the full invoice price.

WHITE GLOVE, TURN-KEY SERVICE

White Glove, Turn-Key Service is an option for any of our coops though typically reserved for larger Carolina Coops and all custom coops. This is when Team Carolina Coops meticulously packs your prefabricated coop into our ‘coop hauler’ and drives anywhere requested to install your beautiful new coop on your property.

We do it all, design, build, transport, site preparation, assemble, and complete the coop and install any accessories! You just let us know where you want it and we make it happen!

This service is individually quoted per coop installation. Cost for this option has to factor in transportation of the coop (mileage/drive time), which is $3 per mile from our destination. Plus we consider how many team members are needed on site, and do we need one of the “head honchos” on site for specialty customizations or for a custom install?, how long will the team be onsite, wages and local daily, per diem for meals & lodging for team members. Usually this amounts to $1,500+ per day onsite.

WHITE GLOVE, TURN-KEY SERVICE PROCEDURE:
Final invoice will be submitted upon near completion of the coop install. Additional charges may be incurred, but clients will be notified. We will always discuss any changes to the scope of work with the client prior to doing anything that may incur charges.

  1. There is an ‘Installation Checklist’ that will be reviewed at some point during the sale of the coop.
  2. Once pre-fabrication is complete on your build, we then schedule a tentative arrival of the install team.
  3. When the team has arrived in your area, depending on the time of day and general area, we may ask that we drop the coop hauler (trailer) at the coop site.
  4. We ask to touch base with the client to just meet and greet and quickly chat about a plan for install and what to expect while on site.
  5. Team Carolina Coops will shoot the coop site with our laser transit to determine the grade of the land to ensure that the site is level and prepped or if additional work is needed to properly place the coop.
  6. If there is any site preparation needed, we will discuss options with the client before proceeding.
  7. Coop assembly commences, touch up paint is done, accessories are installed and any final touches are wrapped up.
  8. Upon completion and clean up, we like to do a final walk through with the client to show the finished product and go over any questions there may be.
  9. With the client’s permission, we like to shoot a video and take photos of the finished product. We reserve the rights to these videos and photos. We respect everyone’s privacy and do not mention last names or and pricing in any of the footage. We do like to have the clients in the videos if possible!
  10. Team Carolina Coops will be sure to clean up the job site upon completion, leaving nothing behind unless requested.
